Straight up now tell me!

Spring is upon us - what a joy! But I'm not feeling so joyous about this upcoming weather change. Let me tell you why. During the latent hibernating months, I was on a mission to workout super hard. Unfortunately, I sat working aside and as the dust clears I'm pushed to go again. Thanks to 007 (my beau) he encourages me, creates workout plans, and suggest awesome reading material for me. Not to mention I just received a treadmill at my place for free! No excuses at this point. I must get ready for summer for goodness sake, I'm a summer baby; I have to be sexified during those months. Okay so when does the conversation turn into action? Now! No, I'm serious - no BS. When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired you take the insane route and just run head first with your arms up screaming at the top of your lungs like spongebob "I'm Ready, I'm Ready!" Maybe I'm a little dramatic but the jig is up -there's no short cuts, becoming fit is a combination of dieting, detoxing, monitoring your eating habits, creating new ones, and the last one (drum roll please) EXERCISING. The thing we all love to avoid. Well, let me just tell you. There's no getting around it - I tried. I remember so vividly during my junior yr at Winston-Salem State University living in these really nice apartments that had a club house with pool access, theater room, and gym. I actually lived directly across the street from it so there was no excuses for me to walk over to use the facility. Well long story short, I worked out (minimum 30 mins on the treadmill) twice a day morning and night. When I say that I was not only my healthiest but I was at a great healthy weight. I didn't look "sick". I just looked very healthy. My point is this - I know how it feels to shed that extra weight that you don't need and it turns your whole life around.
Because I can't go back in time and grab that body back, it's time to put in some work. Thanks to 007, I am now reading "Super Shred" by Dr. Ian Smith. (Yes, I just skipped the first book and went straight to Super Shred) I purchased the book from walmart and after reading a few pages I was sold. I also read plenty of the testimonials on Amazon as well. With this particular book, it all boils down to sticking with your meals and the times you eat in conjunction to working out. What I love about the layout of Super Shred is how it gives you your grocery list and suggested items to buy then it goes into what times you need to be eating etc. I haven't quite finished reading it - actually I'm nowhere near finished but you "multiple book readers" know how that goes. With the exception of my school-related text books, Super Shred will be my primary literary choice of text because I have to get it in by any means necessary. There's not an excuse I could possibly render at this time that should keep me away from challenging myself to commit to a healthier way of living. Last year I wasn't eating as much meat as I'm consuming now to the point people were thinking I was vegetarian. Bottom line, I've got to get back in the habit of making correct choices and create the time to prepare the meals I need to eat.
I'll be following up to update progress while I'm going through these 4 weeks. Good thing is, I won't be doing this alone which is key! I have a good friend joining in and I am sure this will help the both of us with motivation. Our main excuse (which is probably yours as well) is "we don't have time". As busy busy business women, we don't have time! We don't have time to fall into a slight depression due to low self esteem. I'm telling you, I have been there. We've had our moments but no matter what is going on in our business world, if we are working towards a healthy body then that's going to put you, me, and anyone else in a healthy state of mind which in essence will reflect a healthy business and brand!
Thus, creating time is just a matter of rearranging and rescheduling and strategically planning out your day to include a workout and time to properly eat multiple times a day. It won't be easy but it will be worth it (at least that's what I read from the testimonies).

Until next time,
YaSheeka xoxo

Religious freaks are the worst. I'm all for not stirring the controversy pot when it comes to two things: PoliTRICKS & Religion. But when psycho pseudo-religious individuals are all up in your face turning their nose up to culture, that's when it becomes sickening. I mean really? I admit, i can play a hand of politics here and there if need be but that's not my arena but religion - you can count me out of some of those spells. Why is it that an atheist can respect everyone but not everyone can respect an atheist? I actually know quite a few atheist. LOVE them to life because they know what it is and not afraid of you super religious freaks always defending your deity. You look silly! As harsh as it sounds, yeah and I know how it's sounding but people think they are "doing something" really ain't doing nothing. Ya'll be knowing right? Even if we look out on a cosmic level, a lot of our planets are retrograding left and right and we all know what retrograde means. It doesn't mean be fearful or superstitious, it means be aware. Well guess what? We are still dealing with a lot of Eyes wide shut and please believe me that the terms consciousness, and awareness are just merely terms; especially if there's no true work being brought up to put behind it. You cannot fake an awakening, you cannot fake like there's elevation happening because you will get tested. So what does this test consist of you ask? Your guess is as good as mines but trust there's always a test as long as you are taking up space on this planet. You don't really think you live "rent-free" aye?

To my fellow light bringers and dark matter warriors, we're through the tunnel, this is just a new world and to know folks are still loving the illusions comes with the territory but who are we to be mad? Although, It's natural to get mad but as soon as that feeling approach, i too must remember when i was loving the illusion.  ;-)

CREATE YOUR DREAM TEAM!

Everybody wanna do "business" right? But it's apparent that no ONE man is an island. Although we like to think of ourselves as a "one woman/man show" at times. But in order to see desired success or results, it will ultimately take more persons collectively to form a team AROUND you. Now is it ALL about you? No. That's not the point of a #TEAM. Business is business true indeed but when it comes to developing a brand, you want to align yourself with those who are working in your best interest ALREADY. That makes sense?

Me and my photographer (Creative Silence) actually sit and build for at least 30-45 minutes BEFORE we get to the business. In doing so, he's able to align/re-align himself and his brand with mines so therefore when it was time for my upcoming shoot we just recently had, he already held a vision based off us developing a #relationship in the beginning. It wasn't just about the "business". He knows my visions, we've already discussed these things. My
growth shows in his growth and his growth in mines. That is team work.
Somebody that holds a vision for you just as much as you do for yourself!! xo

I HAVE A READING ADDICTION!

Hi my name is YaSheeka, I am 27 and I have a reading addiction!

Sounds quite legit right? Reading has been my outlet for years especially during my college hiatus. Once i decided to branch off and away from college to jumpstart my career, i started feeling depressed. I was slipping into this depression because I was going through some sort of withdraw from not having mandatory readings and assignments to complete anymore. I know - I know, I'm total geek squad! So what did I end up doing? Considering this time was along the leap into Self-Discovery and Consciousness, i started creating my own curriculum! Just a simple curriculum - now when I say curriculum it wasn't so much of a formal document. I just went and purchased books I wanted to read that were relevant to my current situation. For example, If I wanted to advance in my writing skills in hopes of eventually becoming a published author yet still interested in learning about white supremacy in america then i would buy: Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer by Roy Peter Clark & The Isis Papers: The Keys to Colors by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing.

What happens when I find another book I want to read? By the click of a mouse or swipe of a screen, I'm purchasing and getting it shipped to the house. See the addiction now? After while, the books pile up and I am finding myself picking up book after book reading parts from each simultaneously.

This is a logical process for me. It may work for you as well if we share similarities. I'm assuming that you may be asking me if I read books from cover to cover - from page 1 to the very last page. Sure, I have especially urban fictions books. Those are the types of books that are just page turners. Juicy and drama filled will do that to you ;)

When you consider yourself somewhat of a scholar then a great number of your books are reference books filled with hardcore information and facts outlined to cover several topics and subtopics. This gives you the opportunity to pick and choose what area to read and where you want to focus on and pick up for the moment. I'm saying yes, you can read a whole book out of order. It's fine to skip around. The point is to intake the info the way you want. Some books even go as far to include a page generally in the beginning suggesting "how to read this book". lol It's strictly your call! You're the reader, not the author in this case so however you are moved to read then let the spirit move you.

Reading multiple books at once really works for some including myself. It works when you have a goal of connecting your readings creating your own solution-based perspective.

Here's a few tips:
  • Before cracking any book open, ask yourself am I reading this for just merely entertainment? If so, enjoy your reading! If not, then it must be for educational purposes. Find a purpose!
  • Anything that you spend time reading should be looked at as an investment because we all know that time is $$ well to me it is to a degree because I charge my clients by the hour. lol
  • What are you investing in? In other words what are you reading? Are you reading how to over throw the government while standing in the unemployment line receiving your gov't funded benefits? Be real with yourself.
  • Match your reading content to your reality and to where you are striving to be.
  • Carry your book(s) with you. You are most likely to pull it out and read if you are somewhere with an idle mind.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my addiction! This blog was inspired by one of my beloved brothers in hopes to inspire him to get his reading game up by any means necessary! Guess i'll go get some reading done now! hehe ;-)

Bye for now,

Transitioning from Ratchet Status Updates!

Since I myself have felt this way numerous times, I figured I'd make light of transitioning from ratchet status updates to more uplifting and inspiring posts yet still keep it funky with no regrets. Enjoy!                                              ~ Coach YaSheeka

Listen up ya'll, I got a story to tell *in my Biggie voice*

This is pure comedy but I be darned if truth ain't written all in this! I can remember just like it was yesterday, when Facebook first appeared on the scene back in 04/05 and then in just a moment of time it became this overnight multi-billion dollar platform that it is today. I also remember some of my statuses back then being raw and ratchet such as "I'm on some fuck-a-nigga shit right now" or "How you gonna continue to wear the same dress to the club every week, bitch we can see you" [Lol] I'm telling you I was a trip [still am] but back then, I was a few lower levels of consciousness in the wind and just had a IDAF attitude. Straight from the hood yet intellectual and I wasn't going to let anyone get over on me because I possessed just as much street smarts as I had book smarts.

So transitioning from ratchet status updates. [Lol] Where do I start? Let's start with the actual term "ratchet"; for those who are technical with it and for the "smart asses", we know that a ratchet is a tool but somehow this term has took a ghetto spin and has gained another meaning. Present day 2012 circa ratchet currently holds a ghetto - hood - hot mess theme to it. All I can do is shake my head and laugh! Only in America right?! Oh how "We" love to give birth to new terms and make it go viral in seconds right?!

But here's the thing, I know some of you can relate to sitting behind your computer/laptop/smartphone/ipad/tablet and be wanting to go in on a few people and I mean go IN because of some random rant, or some arrogant ignorance, or repeated Ghandi affirmations when you know personally they are full of shit. Well let me be the first to raise my hand and say I HAVE and still even now some days have the urge to tell people about themselves however for me, the transition has clearly been made and as I constantly remind myself - "that's just not "you" anymore Sheeka" I kindly refrain from being ratchet and going off on my own status updates about what someone else is facebook fronting about. Don't get it twisted now, the potential to resurrect this "Sheeka" is there and it was definitely me several years back but, if you've been tracking my evolutionary process online it's clear and evident that changes within has been made and I have transformed and is still transforming for that matter. [wink-wink] Unfortunately though, everyone doesn't make that distinction of recognizing "hey, my time is now - i can't keep hitting that snooze button over and over and over again. I have to make these changes NOW - I'm ready" and then boom change happens [I call it "The Man in The Mirror" moment] So what I am saying to you is that it's fine, it's ok to have changed [eeeeek, there goes that word we love to hate] But don't you never allow anyone to make you feel bad because you have grown and they are still stuck [mentally] in the same frequency - folks have a way of making pple feel horrible because they do. Folks just love to bring up your past like you're running from it or something. It's such a thing. One thing I admire about Miss NeNe Leakes from RHOA is sister girl will tell you in a millisecond that "Yes, I use to be a stripper and I was making my money honey and what?" Same goes for Kandi as well. I had the pleasure of watching Beyond the Studio with Nikki Woods [who has kicked it with me on an episode of Soulful Essentials before] and as they were talking about how Kandi deals with the drama on the show, [view video here] Kandi straight out said something on the lines of, "it ain't like I don't be wanting to go off on some people and get down and dirty but I think about the end results; if I hit somebody then they can potentially sue me - I just be walking away". I feel exactly where Kandi is coming from because she's like - I got too much to lose to be fooling and engaging with ignorant ppl. And that's just that.

Hey look, at the end of the day - don't beat yourself over social network. When you start getting too emotionally attached to other people's status updates then that is a key indicator that you need to take a vacay from social media. Most people don't realize how closely connected we are through the internet and what someone is doing way in Chicago can indeed directly affect someone who lives in South Carolina. So accept your friend requests wisely! ;)

DE-STRESS AND MEET GOALS WITH TIME-MANAGEMENT

De-Stress and Meet Goals with Time-Management

By: Mia Barnett

There are a number of interpretations of time and it’s meaning that stem from an array of backgrounds such as physics, psychology, and even philosophy. Regardless of the interpretation of time one thing that is for sure is as humans get we get older and some at a faster rate than others. As we age not only do we lose the energy that we once had as teenagers and young adults, but we can often feel limited in our ability to reach long-term goals.

Completing short-term goals in a timely fashion produces long-term results. Our productivity stems from our daily tasks and to-do list. As we become more productive we free more time to be used towards completing other tasks that will steadily take us to the next level in life.

When it comes to time-management we must understand that everyone has a different path in life and that includes different goals and needs that must be met in different ways. To understand how to better manage time there must be an understanding of time as a man-made calculation of interval. We must manage our time with flexibility and the knowledge that not all things will workout perfectly.

As a mother of two beautiful girls, graduate student, operator of a start-up business, and full-time employee I alleviate stress through a daily to-do list. First step in organizing your time is to categorize responsibilities, prioritize those categories, and then prioritize within each category. Everyday I prioritize a numbered task lists that includes all main tasks that must be completed before the day is over.

An hourly schedule can make the difference between being late for an interview, meeting, or work.  An hourly schedule includes the time it takes to drive, walk or wait. It helps a person with a very eventful day be able to distress as they have a visual map of exactly how they will fit their activities into their hectic day.  Prioritizing is ordering daily, weekly or monthly tasks from most to least important goals. After following an hourly schedule from day to day we begin to become more aware of how fleeting time is and accomplish more through the subtle pressures of time-constraints.

With time management our brains can focus on the task at hand instead of the time.  Time management has to be coordinated according to your lifestyle and your personal daily tasks. Managing time can be mundane or even challenging at first, but sticking to it through all slip-ups will yield goals becoming dreams. Managing time can yield at least 30 minutes to 1 hour of extra time to exercise, nap, have daily devotional, meditate, or make that important phone call you've been promising to a special someone for weeks.

Other methods of time-management are making everyday a special day for a particular activity, setting time limits on all activities and organizing work and home space.

An anonymous American proverb to live by is, “If you don't have a plan for yourself you'll be part of someone else's.”

Save The World

After I save the world, who's going to save me?

It's true, alot of us have this super hero mentality - and for some of us it's written in our DNA so we can't help it. We want to be the ones who help and "save" the masses from their self destruction - from our point of view. I am guilty of this myself. However, I have come to the realization many times over and over again that it is I who need to save myself and it will be through my shared testimonials that others can then become inspired to ask for help. Maybe I shouldn't say help because for some, the word "help" is associated with other terms such as weakness or neediness. This in return prevents people from reaching out in fear of appearing to "need help" but help is merely a verb which means to make things easier for someone to do something by offering aid.

The key is to make it easier on yourself.

If you really sat back and reflected on choices and decisions that you have made in the past - could you have asked for help? Would it made it easier to just ask for help? Situations that occur within our life can be very challenging indeed and everything isn't meant to be "easy" however, you have total control to choose to make it better.

What makes us think that EVERYONE needs our help more than ourselves? Very interesting. No one needs our help more than we do at this very moment. Responsibility rest on our own shoulders.

This is how we save the world - by saving ours first.

**On Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 - I interview Angela Brooks of www.angelabrook.com on another episode of my talk radio show Soulful Essentials

Goal Setting Made Easy!

Whether you are a CEO in training, an aspiring dancer, or an up and coming artist; you want to work at a steady progressively inclined pace towards your bigger picture. By now, we all should know that "Progress is indeed a Process" and "Patience is a Virtue". I'm sure have no desire to  rush to get nowhere fast - So fast that you miss the substantial work that's required behind this "busyness" everyone wants to somehow portray.  And I am also pretty sure we all know at least one person who is always so busy - busy - busy doing this, busy doing that but lacks productivity.

When we think about setting goals we tend to have these huge, lavish, extraordinary goals in mind. Indeed, we should definitely "think big" but it's going to be those smaller goal-oriented accomplishments that will foster us into that bigger extraordinary thought! It's a very simple technique to set goals and it works - so here it goes:

  • Write down your major long-term goal(the extraordinary one)
  • Under your long-term goal, write down what it will take to fully accomplish this goal.(These are your secondary long-term goals) Ask yourself questions such as: "Do I need some type of skill, trade, certification, or degree for this goal?
  • Directly following under your secondary goal, write out what it will take to get that goal accomplished. For example, if your secondary goal is to invest in a vehicle to open your own Mobile Pet Grooming Service (the extraordinary goal) then, you would write out what it will take to purchase a car or van. (down payment, co-signer, credit check, etc) You can't be mobile without some sort of vehicle right?
Do you see the pattern?

Once you have identified your goal, all you are then doing is breaking down what it will take to fulfill that goal. By the time you are done, you will have a ladder full of goals (short-term & long-term)

  • Create a feasible timeline and organize your goals by dates.
  • Hang your timeline somewhere visible where you are engaging daily. (office, closet door, back of bathroom door, mirror, etc)

Is it becoming clearer to you? The key is to (mentally) START at the top and visualize that it's already done. The only thing you are doing is navigating your way through the physical work.

Now it's time to manifest! ;)

Working your way up to larger sized goals is an important process. It is also a process that is over-looked often because this is where the true grind lies - in the work.

As always, i encourage and implement these teachings to my clients and with much practice, they not only become goal setters but more importantly they become goal accomplishers!

Peace Be Still Business Woman

As a professional woman, I know first hand the struggles of maintaining a sense of peace and serenity within the temple which is of sacred divineness - all the while tackling a chaotic world from a business standpoint. It's true, no matter how big our S is on our chest or how "super womanish" we have convinced ourselves to be, We are just as vulnerable in receiving emotional attacks just as the next woman however for the professional woman, business must go on. Correct? Professional women has made it apart of her curriculum to cover up her baggage just a tad bit better and a little bit more strategic than others and in doing so, the oh so savvy, tailored suit wearing woman begins to collect extra baggage on the way up the ladder of success only to come to a point of mental deterioration once her breaking point is reached.

Let it Go
Because we are in this competitive, must meet deadlines, superficial game of societal views, peace of mind has some how crawled its way to the very dark corners of our reality  Why is this woman?

Here are just a few questions to confront yourself with when seeking mental stability or balance:

  1.  Am I competing for something? If so, what is it that I am competing for? What is the prize? Is it worth putting my mental health in jeopardy?
  2.  Do I have to force myself to take a break from work?
  3. I love what I do but does my work put my emotional health at risk?
  4. Do I work so much to bury myself and hide from a specific pain within myself?
  5. If I need someone  to help me sort out internal issues, do I have resources to tap into? Do I have a support team set up for the greater of my good?
  6. Am I neglecting some aspect of taking care of myself? Whether it's committing to a hair appointment every 2 weeks or a good clean Brazilian wax; self care is extremely essential to the busy business woman.
Those are just a few questions that you would want to ask yourself. Once you reflect on your answers, be very truthful with yourself, and then proceed to pinpoint the areas in which you need help to maintain balance from a spiritual point of view.

For the business woman we understand that losing ourselves in our work can easily happen. That's the known part, but what can you do when you find yourself popping Tylenol after Ibuprofen after another? (or other synthetic pharmaceutical drugs) The first step is to identify that you are reaching a point of mental exhaustion. It's not a good thing to wait until you have reached that point - the name of the game is prevention thus becoming aware that you are traveling in that direction but before you fully arrive, your body will give you all the warnings you need, it is up to you to watch for the red flags.

A great starting place will be to reach out to a Life Coach that specializes in the areas in which you will benefit from the most.  I understand the value of investing in yourself and as a life coach, I want you to get the best out of your experience which includes your internal successes and peace of mind.

Know your limits and know when enough is enough. Peace in oneself equates to incteading more peace in the World!

Be Connected!

During my adolescent years, I cherished a short cartoon film by the name of Red Shoes. I have found very few people who remember this cartoon. It was such a warm heart felt story and i watched it almost everyday for years. It was narrated by Ossie Davis and at the beginning he started off by saying: "We humans have to feel connected - connected in such a way or else we might as well be dead"
Little did I know that this phrase would stay with me for many years to come only to begin to come full circle as I reach pre-adulthood.

We are creations of light sent here to shine. Are you realizing this yet?

Being "connected" for your soul's purpose.

When you are connected to the right beings, it brings out more of you; that in which the Creator gifted you with.

Check out Native Sun's latest music video: Lightness of Happiness It has been giving me life since it was premiered. Believe me, it is doing exactly what it is suppose to be doing and that's elevating minds, touching souls and lifted spirits.

On the flip side (which we know there is a dualistic nature with EVERYTHING) we don't want to become energy sucking vampires now do we? Absolutely not! I have seen people who will force themselves and their friendships onto others. We want to connect with that in which feels nature to both parties. Connect with that in which you seek.

Connections are great if they are the right connections. Be wise and not foolish to who you seek a connection with. Sometimes we can be so desperately searching that we blindly walk into a situation that could have been avoided. If this should happen to you - learn the lesson and move on.

I would like to end in gratitude. I am always divinely guided when making connections and I have been gifted with strong instinctive senses to know who to keep and who to let go. And as YOU work more and more on yourSELF, you too will increase your "spider senses" and will be able to make wise decisions based off your intuition that we were blessed with.

GoodBye for now,
Coach YaSheeka :)

Evolution Acceptance

What if I told you that there's nothing about you that needs, fixing, correcting, changing, improving, enhancing, or bettering? What if I told you that you're perfect just as you are...as perfect who or what made you? I guess the question that may arise then is, to which "you" am I referring; the you looking into the mirror or the you staring back?

Curiously, the Truth about who we are and what our purpose is in being here in this life has an odd way of hiding itself in plain view; right before our eyes and if we only took the time to delve a little deeper, just beneath the surface, we'd find all that we need and more.

For instance, I like words and I see how one word can reveal or unveil things we don't always perceive at first glance, and, profound truths are often found in simple words that we use each and every day! Take for example the word Individual. Break the word individual down and you get "Indivi" as in indivisible...unable to be divided, and "dual" as in two! So, when we put that together we see that the word we use to refer to a single person actually means the two that cannot be divided! Each and everyone of us consists of two parts that cannot be divided! Once we become aware of what these two parts are that make up who or what we are...once we see how these two aspects of ourselves connect and interrelate, we can then make sense out of everything within us and around us!

The truth is, there are several words used to describe the dual nature of man, or the two aspects of ourselves, and we can look all the way back in time and see examples of humanity grappling with or expressing the comprehension of what that two-fold nature of man consists of and how it's expressed, such as spirit and flesh, divinity and nature, energy and matter, god and devil, good and evil, heavenly and earthly, conscious and unconscious, yin and yang! There are many more, but those will suffice. We must admit, there is certainly a difference between who we are in the world, or how we present ourselves to the world, or how the world perceives us, versus who we think we are, or who we know ourselves to be, or who or what we deeply sense ourselves as being! There is a difference...a big difference!

Fundamentally, there is a part of us that never slumbers and never sleeps, a part of us as individuals that is infinitely intelligent, that knows without needing an explanation, that is always awake, always aware, always alert, always busy, always working, always conscious! This part of us is infinitely creative, capable of feats that man has not yet even imagined. You sense this part of yourself, you know that such a part of you exists, you feel it! You know that it is capable of engineering the life you were born to lead, but what happens? We ignore it! We put it on the back burner, we muffle it, muzzle it, dumb it down, dope it up, cut it, mute it, strangle it, and drown it out in favor of the other part and so many people leave this earth without ever having the opportunity to experience it because they never grow in awareness enough to Accept it!

The other part of us is going to school, is learning, is adapting, is thinking, toiling, talking, acting, fronting, pretending, doting, fearing, desiring, yearning, longing, hoping, dreaming, wishing and so on. In a word, there is that other part of ourselves that is Evolving!

My point is this, we don't need to change who we are, we need to ACCEPT who we are! We don't necessarily need "self improvement," rather what we really need is self acceptance and in that self acceptance we evolve and when one is evolving...when one is a conscientious, awake, aware, alert, responsive, and responsible partner and participant in their own Evolution, it is a gross understatement to say that he or she has improved or is improving! How can you ever feel the pain and torment of neglect when you Accept who you are; ALL of who you are? How can someone or something that has improved be compared to someone or something that has evolved? What would you rather do, improve or evolve? Who would you rather receive acceptance from, someone else or from within yourself? When someone improves, it basically means that whatever has been improved is, for the moment, made more efficient for whatever the purposes are, but when someone evolves or is evolving, they are transcending! All improvements have an expiration date and is dependent upon something alien to itself to maintain the improvement, but when you have accepted and committed yourself fully to an evolutionary process then you are no longer bound to a terminating timeline and you are driven from within and that drive is anchored unto something that is eternal and ever abiding! When you accept your evolution as a process that is driven by genetics and guided by awareness NO circumstance can alter or change the gains you've made! Your accomplishments become all your own. Patience becomes a pleasure rather than a vice!

Look no longer upon yourself as someone or something the needs to be improved! Begin looking at yourself as yourself by accepting yourself and surrender to the process of your own evolution! You are not a backswing that needs tweaking, or a house that needs remodeling! Technique and repetition will fix the former and an interior decorator and a second mortgage will handle the latter.  But you, dear soul, are not a backswing nor are you made of wood and stone. You are a living, breathing, thinking, feeling, sensing, intuiting, learning, and most importantly Evolving life form. The higher you evolve the more light you embody! The more accepting you are of yourself the more you'll value who you are as well as who made you! You honor your origin by accepting your destiny which is to be your self in greater and greater measure!

In this world of form, EVERYTHING is constantly changing! What does not change with the changes, what neglects to accept the nature of change, eventually dies, but, what forever lives on is what is forever adapting: The only thing that continues to adapt is what is intelligent or cognitive enough to evolve! YOU, however, ARE, so to bring an end to self-destructive rejection, step into Evolution Acceptance!

Embracing A "New" You!

If there's a thin line between love and hate, there's an even thinner line between being and seeming! It was Cicero, in one of his most renown essays, "On Friendship," who wrote, "Esse quam videri," which means 'To be rather than to seem."

Clearly, we are living in an increasingly global community, thanks in large part to technological advances, and now, like the title of Thomas Friedman's book suggests, the world is flattening! The world as we know it is becoming more and more like one global village, the pressure to conform, to move with the herd, is exponentially increasing!

Popularly, the "in" thing is to 'be different,' but the funny thing about it all is many people are, rebelling, pretending to be different, perpetrating as someone or something that they're not, and behaviorally protesting common sense, all in a worthless attempt to appear to be unique! It's still the 'everyone else is doing it bandwagon' mentality, but it's shrouded behind a facade cloaked in vanity. He is not different: he is imitating someone who is! She is not unique: she is imitating someone who is! Once you project this prevailing social pattern you'll easily see that children have inherited and are growing up in a world overpopulated with imitators imitating the imitations of other imitators! What a masquerade!  One word that accurately sums up this blissful ignorance and mindless madness is homogenization! Everything looking the same is the trending norm, seen in,  fashion, dress, speech, music, architecture, education, entertainment, sexuality, and on and on: so much so that originality has become a fading rarity when it should be a cool normalcy!

Ironically, the easiest, most fulfilling, most rewarding, most promising, most empowering, and most liberating thing to do is to BE YOUR SELF! Fake it till you make it they say! Get in where you fit in! Go with the flow! Those are treadmill philosophies because no matter how much energy you put into them you'll pretty much always end up exactly where you started, neither having advanced nor withdrawn, simply exhausted and more than likely frustrated from a rigorous exercise in futility: In short, putting your energy into seeming will get you nowhere fast!

The reversal is this, the main people who inspire us to be greater, empower us to truly be ourselves, who motivate us to realize and maximize our innate potentials are people who simply are who they are. Pardon the expression but, they be who they be. They don't make qualms about admitting, accepting, and embracing who they are, and more than likely, as words to live by they always say the same thing, "Be your self!" It's their originality, their uniqueness, their creativity, and their authenticity, their one-of-a-kind persona that motivates us. Sure, these inspiring people are just like you and I and they've learned from somewhere and someone, but with what they've managed to gather amidst what life has brought their way in the form of people, circumstances, information, environment etc., they went and did their own thing with it.

Finally, I'm not advocating a reinvention of the evolutionary wheel and I'm certainly not proposing you follow conventional wisdom which encourages you to find someone great and emulate him or her. What I am suggesting is that you ARE unique, you DO, have specific purposes or callings in this life, but in order to come into the knowledge of what that especial purpose is, you must see with new eyes, perceive with a new perspective, approach life from a new angle...you yourself must be made new! You have to commit, surrender to being a new you and in order for that to happen, you have to first embrace who you are right where you are! Tired, sleepy, hurt, confused, untrusting, stressed out, misunderstood, neglected, emotionally spent, broke, rich, famous, popular, celebrated or what have you, the journey to being made new begins with letting go of the old that has no place in the now.

When you let go of what is not for you, you automatically grab hold of what is truly for you because energy never dies, it simply changes form! To do this is to be reborn and to be reborn is to die and it all rests upon the awareness of what to hold onto and what to let go of, what is correct for you and what is incorrect for you in your own evolutionary process of self-discovery and self awareness!

This takes practice.  Notice that in the middle of the word practice is the word "act." You don't have to be a bible thumper to appreciate the timeless wisdom in the sayings, "Faith without works is dead and be ye transformed by a renewing of your mind."

It was a process that conditioned you away from who you really are, that stripped you of your "royal and divine" birth rights, your true universal uniqueness, so it will be a process to be made new and this process requires work within and without!

Case in point, I've always noticed, very early on, how the very simplicity of life is what makes it so complex. We have two of almost everything; feet, legs, hands, arms, ears, eyes, lips, nostrils, but, out of the seven windows in our heads, we've only got one mouth with one tongue! I see this as somehow being part of nature's instructions on how to live as who and what we are and that is, walking, working, lifting, seeing, smelling, hearing, listening, watching, and seeing...all of these we should do TWICE as much as we run our mouths! How? Practice what you preach and preach what you practice!

The difference between being and seeing is simple. To seem requires you to try and do something or be something, but being is completely different. Being means getting out of your own way and allowing the magic of everyday life to emerge. To do this you must be present, in the Now! If you get hung up on the future or the past, you'll completely miss the present. If you get caught up on what you don't have, you'll throw away all that you do! Ad if you spend all of your time trying to be who and what you're not, you run the risk of forever losing who and what you really are!

The moment you see that each day you awaken and are still alive is another opportunity to realize your worth, another shot at cracking the combination to your soul's vault and laying claim to the wealth within you and the wealth around you, another chance to, with two hands, embrace the greater you, each and everyday is never the same and that person is forever new!
